Moose Licence Application Period Begins 05/18/05

2004 Wildlife Officer of the Year Named 03/28/05
Rick Nash is New Brunswick's 2004 Shikar-Safari Wildlife Officer of the Year. The Belleville, Ont., native is the assistant district ranger in Fredericton. Nash attended the Maritime School of Forest Technology and joined the enforcement staff at Natural Resources in 1994. [Comments?]
Department Offers Hunting and Trapping Courses 03/01/05
Winter in New Brunswick is the perfect time to enroll in one of a number of Conservation Education courses available throughout the province. The Department of Natural Resources and its network of about 400 dedicated volunteer instructors currently offer Firearm Safety/Hunter Education, Bow Hunter Education and Trapper Education Courses. Preliminary Moose Harvest Figures 10/06/04
Preliminary figures from the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources for the 2004 moose hunt show an increase in the number of moose taken over last year. More than 53,000 hunters applied to the annual moose license draw this year. A total of 2,789 hunters were successful in drawing a moose license, and an additional 2,100 hunters were expected to purchase designate hunting licenses to accompany them. [Comments?]

Anterless Deer Tag Draw Results Available 08/17/04
The results of the 2004 antlerless deer tag draw were released today by the Department of Natural Resources. A total of 3,122 New Brunswick hunters had their names selected in a random computerized draw for antlerless deer validation stickers. The successful applicants will be notified by mail and should receive their stickers by the end of September. [Comments?]
Moose Draw Results Available 07/14/04
The results of the 2004 moose licence draw are available from 12:01 a.m. July 9 until Sept. 25. Hunters who entered the draw will be able to find out if they were successful by calling 1-800-459-3729 on a touch tone telephone or by going online. There were 50,566 applications for moose licences. The 2004 moose hunting season is scheduled for Sept. 23, 24 and 25. [Comments?]

The application period for the 2004 Antlerless Deer Permit Draw is now underway. New Brunswick residents who want to hunt antlerless deer must purchase 2004 deer hunting licences and apply for permits. Oregon Successful Bull Elk Hunt
Last fall I got my first bull elk. I was hunting in Oregon in a general hunt area. I had scouted where I wanted to be opening morning. With snow on the ground I feel they can hear you stepping through it, so I didn't go too far. And no tracks were seen. It melted and two days later and went back to my spot.
