Sixty-one projects related to the enhancement of the province's wildlife, fish and their habitats will receive support from the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund.

"Since its inception in 1997, the wildlife trust fund has distributed almost $11.4 million to support 957 projects undertaken by many of the province's non-profit groups and associations," said Stiles. "These latest projects will receive funding totaling $616,525, and they are related to fisheries, wildlife, biodiversity and education."

Projects are approved twice annually on the recommendation of the New Brunswick Wildlife Council, a voluntary body with representatives from hunting, angling, trapping, aboriginal, naturalist and environmental groups. About $1 million is distributed through the wildlife trust fund each year.

The wildlife trust fund is made up of revenues received from conservation fees added to the cost of hunting, angling and trapping permits, including fees on special conservation license plates.

Massachusetts 8 Point Deer
This is one of two deer that I harvested this past 2008 season in eastern Massachusetts zone 11. The first one was a 7 point, one hundred eighty pound buck. This one is my biggest to date, was an 8 point two hundred two pounds that I shot at forty yards. All deer that I have taken have been by bow only. I'm looking very much towards the 2009 season!
