The results of the 2009 moose licence draw are now available.

Hunters who entered the draw may find out if they were successful either by calling 1-800-459-3729 on a Touch-Tone telephone, or online at the Natural Resources website, http://www.gnb.ca/cnb/cnbnews/department-e.asp?ID=60. Callers will be asked to enter their New Brunswick medicare number by using the telephone keypad, and those checking online must enter the number into the required field on the website. Applicants will then be informed if they were successful.

Validation stickers will be sent to all successful applicants. In order to purchase their moose licence, hunters must bring the sticker and their valid New Brunswick medicare card to a Natural Resources office or to a participating Service New Brunswick centre after Monday, Aug. 17.

There were 60,764 applications for just more than 3,400 available licences for New Brunswick residents. The 2009 moose hunting season is scheduled for Sept. 24-26.

First Buck for Pennsylvania 13 Year Old
It was the second day of Pennsylvania deer (rifle) season. It was a little windy that afternoon, but the wind was on our side. My grandfather and I were hunting the edge of a swamp. My little brother and my dad were posted about 1,500 yards NE of us. We were hoping that they would spook something to us. I had my trusty Marlin 32 special. It has taken deer.
