Nevada Dept. of Wildlife

Posted on: 02/23/09 [1 Comment]

Southern Nevada hunters who want to learn more about Nevada's big game management programs and the annual tag application process can attend a free informational workshop hosted by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW).

Information on big game management, tag quotas and allocations, draw odds, harvest data, bonus points, common application errors and the computerized draw will be presented. New procedures for this year’s drawing will also be discussed. Participants will also learn how to use the NDOW website to find information about everything from hunting to the number of bonus points an individual has earned.

The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Clark County Government Center, 500 Grand Central Parkway. Reservations are not required. Call NDOW at 486-5127 x 3501 for more information.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW's wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen's license and conservation fees and a Federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. For more information, visit www.ndow.org.

Lower Michigan Wild Boar Hunt
On October 12th, 2008 I had the pleasure of going on a Russian Wild Boar hunt for disabled hunters in lower Michigan. I used a 50 cal. blackpowder rifle. It was a once in a lifetime hunt for me, it was wonderful. I had a great time with the whole hunt.
