Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

Posted on: 02/04/08 [Comments?]

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will conduct a hunter education apprentice volunteer instructor training class at Mitchell on Feb. 23, according to Nebraska Hunter Education Coordinator Mike Streeter.

Streeter said apprentice instructor classes are required for those interested in becoming a volunteer hunter education instructor.

In Nebraska, state law requires anyone 12 years or older, born on or after Jan. 1, 1977, to have successfully completed a state-certified hunter education course prior to hunting with a firearm.

Streeter said firearm hunter education apprentice instructor training class will be 9 a.m.-noon at Mitchell Trap Club, south of Mitchell on Nebraska Highway 29 to Hawk Road.

Space is limited. Contact Streeter by phone at (402) 471-6134 or e-mail at mike.streeter@ngpc.ne.gov before Feb. 22.
