June 9th - Nebraska Leftover Tags Go on Sale
Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

Posted on: 06/06/08 [Comments?]

Nebraska residents and nonresidents may begin purchasing any remaining deer, antelope or elk permits at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time on June 9.

Hunters are encouraged to purchase permits online from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's Web site, www.OutdoorNebraska.org. Permits also will be sold at the following Commission permitting offices: Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium, Alliance, Bassett, Chadron State Park (SP), Fort Robinson SP, Kearney, Niobrara SP, Norfolk, North Platte, Omaha, Lincoln, Ponca SP, and Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area.

The only remaining antelope permits are landowner permits and may be purchased online or at the above permitting offices.

The only remaining elk permits are antlerless elk landowner permits and may be purchased only at permitting offices. Landowners must be sure to have the proper legal land description with them at the time of application. An application must be approved before a permit can be issued. A Commission wildlife biologist will review with the landowner the application and legal land description to determine eligibility.

The permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hunters can monitor the number of remaining permits in various hunt units on the Commission's Web site. Go to Licenses and Fees on the home page, pull down and click on Purchase a Permit, then click on Remaining Permit under Quick Links.

For more information, including the number of permits available and prior-year sell-out dates, see the 2008 Nebraska Big Game Guide, available for free wherever permits are sold.

Alberta Mulie Hunt
Well it was the last day of the season, or so I thought. I pulled myself out of bed at around 4:30 am thinking to myself I have a mulie tag that's not filled, so I better give it one more try. Jumped in the truck and headed north to Drayton Valley Alberta, to an area that I saw while I was working in the area earlier in the year. One field that caught my eye, had some does in it.
