Nine-pipe NWR

Description:
The Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge is located on tribal trust lands of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. The Fish and Wildlife Service has an easement for wildlife refuge management purposes. Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge is 2,000 acres of water, marsh, and upland grassland. Shaped by glacial activity approximately 12,000 years ago, the terrain surrounding Ninepipe is rolling and interspersed with many pothole wetlands. The refuge provides nesting and resting areas for migratory birds and wildlife.

Directions:
The Ninepipe NWR is located in the Mission Valley of northwest Montana. Located 55 miles north of Missoula, Montana. Drive to the refuge by taking Highway 93 to 6 miles south of Ronan.
