Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks requests that hunters report any sightings or signs of wolves. A gray wolf is about 2.5 feet tall, 5-6 feet long, and weighs between 70-120 pounds. Wolves have a broad snout, round ears and fur ranging from gray, black or tan to white. FWP must prepare annual reports to document the recovered status and distribution of the Montana wolf population. Information provided by hunters will help monitoring efforts and aid in the management and ultimate removal of wolves from the federal list of endangered species . Hunters and others can enter reports of wolves online at fwp.mt.gov . Click "Montana Wolves," or contact the nearest FWP regional or state office. 520 Lb Manitoba Black Bear
Pastor Duane Vanderklok from Rapid City, Michigan took this 520 pound black bear - just over 7 feet- skull measured over 21 inches. Luck was on his side no doubt! There was a sow on the bait and he came chasing after her. Perfect shot -- the bear went about 20 yards. This is the second Booner taken this past spring in Manitoba with Hastings Bros. Outfitters.
