Manitobans are encouraged to enjoy a free outdoor experience as there will be no admission fees to enter provincial parks on the Labour Day long weekend, Conservation Minister Stan Struthers announced.

"We are pleased to offer Manitoba families one last outing to our provincial parks free of charge before school begins," said Struthers.

The minister also noted that the parks reservation service passed the 2007 total the week of Aug. 18 with 52,558 reservations so far this year compared to the total for all of last year of 50,086.

"Campers from across Manitoba and visitors continue to use the parks reservation service and the province will continue to make adjustments to the system to ensure the first step to a great outdoor vacation in our province is even easier," said Struthers.

While there will be no admission fees to provincial parks on the Labour Day weekend (Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 inclusive), camping fees will remain in place.

Struthers reminded people using beaches in provincial parks to be water wise to prevent accidents.

Ontario Turkey Hunting Success
I'm a new Hunter at 44 years and this was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I went out Turkey hunting and I was out about three times, outside a little town in midwestern Ontario Canada. I went and put a decoy about 20 yards in front of me and sat beside a small tree the sun was just coming up, and I sat for about 30 minutes, never heard or seen anything so I got up and moved my decoy walked up and down the field, went and sat back down again, called a couple time and nothing.
