Bayou Cocodrie NWR

Description:
Bayou Cocodrie NWR has some of the least disturbed bottomland hardwoods in the Mississippi River Valley. This refuge was established in 1992 to provide wintering habitat for waterfowl and to protect the hardwood that is nearly untouched.

Directions:
The refuge headquarters is located approximately 15 miles west of Natchez, MS. Take U. S. Highway 84 West/65 North from Natchez, MS to Ferriday, LA. Continue on U. S. Highway 84 West to the junction of Louisiana Highway 15 South. Turn left onto Louisiana Highway 15 South and travel one mile south to the junction of Poole Road. After turning right at the Bayou Cocodrie NWR sign and onto Poole Road, travel approximately 3.5 miles to the refuge headquarters.
