Kansas 2007 Antelope Applications in the Mail
Kansas Dept. of Wildlife and Parks

Posted on: 05/28/07 [Comments?]

Application deadline is June 8 for firearms and muzzleloader permits. Applications for permits to hunt antelope in 2007 are being mailed to last year’s applicants. Applications are also available on the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks website, www.kdwp.state.ks.us, and for the first time, applications may be filed online.

The application deadline is June 8 for muzzleloader and firearm permits; archery permits may be purchased through Oct. 30. Archery season is Sept. 22-30 and Oct. 13-31. Muzzleloader permit holders may hunt Oct. 1-8. Firearms season is Oct. 5-8.

Thirty-eight muzzleloader and 114 firearm permits are available this year. Only Kansas residents are eligible for muzzleloader and firearm permits. An unlimited number of archery permits is available, and recent trends indicate that about 190 residents will obtain permits to bowhunt antelope. Last year, for the first time, nonresidents were also eligible for archery antelope permits. Five nonresident archery permits were issued in 2006, and a similar number is anticipated this year.

First Time Deer Hunt in Saskatchewan
It was the morning of Nov 24, 2007. Having discussed the night before that Coralee would have first shooting rights if we saw anything we liked, we set out for what would be one exciting morning that would carry out to the day I'm writing this. As we set out in the morning there was a light fog hovering in the air. We went out to one of my favorite spots north of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.
