All spots are filled for the deer reductions that will be held at the 19 DNR properties that will temporarily close to the general public Dec. 10-11.

These properties include Chain O'Lakes, Charlestown, Clifty Falls, Fort Harrison, Harmonie, Indiana Dunes, Lincoln, McCormick's Creek, Ouabache, Pokagon, Potato Creek, Shades, Shakamak, Spring Mill, Tippecanoe River, Turkey Run, Versailles and Whitewater Memorial state parks, plus Twin Swamps Nature Preserve.

The deadline for applying for the draw was Aug. 17. All applicants have been notified of their status.

Those interested in participating in the deer reductions next year should mark their calendars starting in late July 2008 to watch the DNR Web site, dnr.IN.gov, for the 2008 application. The 2008 deadline for applying will be similar to that for 2007.

Individuals who have completed the Indiana Hunter Education Course are given preference to participate in the firearm reductions. The firearm reductions are limited to the use of shotguns, muzzleloaders and pistols. For the archery reductions, archers are required to have completed the International Bowhunter Education Program or hold a Hunter Education certificate to participate.

Hunting the Wyoming Big Horn Mountains
There is nothing like hunting in the Big Horns around Ten Sleep, Wyoming. My friends and I had a very good year hunting in Ten Sleep and Kaycee, Wyoming. It all started out on October 18th. My friends Parker and Josh Lyman of Ten Sleep started our year off with a bang on the first day.
