Indiana Department of Natural Resources

Posted on: 08/19/05 [Comments?]

Get the mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce ready – for the first time, turkey hunting will be allowed in Indiana during the fall season. Sportsmen will be able to purchase licenses at the Department of Natural Resources building during the Indiana State Fair, Aug. 10 — 21.

"With squirrel, deer and the first-ever fall turkey season fast approaching, the DNR will provide a quick and easy opportunity for visitors to pick up their hunting and fishing licenses at the Indiana State Fair," said DNR Director Kyle Hupfer.

Fall turkey licenses, along with other hunting and fishing licenses, can be purchased at the Mother Nature’s Mercantile located in the back of the DNR building.

Licenses can also be purchased online www.IndianaOutdoor.IN.gov or at one of the 700 retail locations that participate in DNR’s Indiana Outdoor licensing program.
