Muskox Season to Open February 16, 2005 02/15/05
The Alaska Department of fish and Game will open a registration permit hunting season for muskox in Unit 26B on February 16, 2005. The hunt includes the area east of the Dalton Highway Corridor Management Area and the Prudhoe Bay Closed Area, and west of the Canning River. Permits are available only to Alaska residents, and may be obtained at Nuiqsut and Kaktovik. The season will be closed when four animals are taken or by March 31, whichever comes first. [Comments?]

Oryx Hunting App Deadline Approaching 01/27/03
The deadline to apply for New Mexico's oryx hunting licenses and population reduction/depredation hunts for deer, elk, antelope, javelina and oryx is Feb. 1, 2003. The deadline also applies to bear entry permits for some state-owned wildlife management areas and public-land spring turkey hunts on the Valle Vidal and Game Management Unit 2. Hunters may apply for these hunts on Form 2003, available at about 230 license vendors statewide, Game and Fish offices and at www.gmfsh.state.nm.us. Draw permits for bear hunts are available in the Sargent, Humphries, E.S. Barker and Colin Neblett wildlife management areas. Dogs may not be used for these hunts. [Comments?]
Bowhunting Success in Wisconsin My buck was shot in Sauk county Wisconsin; it was during the 2006 bowhunting season. It was early October and the rut had not started yet. He presented me with about a 20 yard shot quartering away in a cut hay field. He weighed 250 lbs and has 9 points scoring 130 B/C.
