Posted on: 10/23/06 [Comments?]

Late Sunday afternoon, Oct. 16, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents arrested a Bridgeville man on charges of trespassing to hunt and hunting deer out of season.

Enforcement agents were contacted after a property owner allegedly found the man hunting in a tree stand on his property without permission. According to Enforcement agents, the trespasser tried to hide from the property owner before returning to his own residence, where agents interviewed and then arrested him.

At the time of arrest, Enforcement agents seized as evidence a 250cc Honda ATV, a tree stand and a 12-guage shotgun and ammunition for possible forfeiture.

Jay F. Pratt III, of the 18000 block of Progress School Road in Bridgeville, was arrested and taken to the Georgetown Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Office for processing and was arraigned at JP Court 3 and transferred to the Court of Common Pleas in Georgetown. He was released on $1,000 secured bond.

Massachusetts 8 Point Deer
This is one of two deer that I harvested this past 2008 season in eastern Massachusetts zone 11. The first one was a 7 point, one hundred eighty pound buck. This one is my biggest to date, was an 8 point two hundred two pounds that I shot at forty yards. All deer that I have taken have been by bow only. I'm looking very much towards the 2009 season!
