The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), in partnership with the Pacific Coast Hunter Education Association, is offering a Wild Pig Hunting Clinic at the Valley of the Moon Gun Club in Sonoma on June 4.
The clinic will cover wild pig biology, hunting considerations and requirements, methods of take, methods for locating wild pigs, hunting techniques, locations to hunt, care of game, and wild pig recipes. Space is limited.
The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a barbecue lunch. Cost for the clinic is $30; however, the Pacific Coast Hunter Education Association (PCHEA) will refund $20 of the registration to all association members and other certified hunter education instructors.
Raffle tickets will be available for $5 per ticket, or five for $20. One of the raffle items is a guided wild pig hunt. Payment can be made with cash or checks, but credit cards are not accepted. All proceeds from the clinic will go to PCHEA and DFG’s Advanced Hunter Education program.
