Hunting & Trapping Regulations Set for 2005-2006
British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection

Posted on: 07/08/05 [Comments?]

Beginning this week, the 2005-06 hunting and trapping regulations are available online, through government agents’ offices, and stores where hunting and trapping licenses are sold.

Published in the British Columbia Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis, the

regulations are based on science, using the best and latest data available.

Regional hunting and trapping regulations may change each year to address conservation and safety concerns and to allow expanded opportunities where wildlife populations have grown.

Major regulation changes are detailed on Page 2 of the synopsis. For changes specific to a region, check the map notation on the front page for that region.

The electronic version of the synopsis is available through the Subject Index on the ministry’s website www.gov.bc.ca./wlap

520 Lb Manitoba Black Bear
Pastor Duane Vanderklok from Rapid City, Michigan took this 520 pound black bear - just over 7 feet- skull measured over 21 inches. Luck was on his side no doubt! There was a sow on the bait and he came chasing after her. Perfect shot -- the bear went about 20 yards. This is the second Booner taken this past spring in Manitoba with Hastings Bros. Outfitters.
