Hunting Regulations Set for 2004-2005
British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection

Posted on: 07/16/04 [Comments?]

The Province’s 2004-05 hunting and trapping regulations, published in the British Columbia Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis, are now available.

Hunting and trapping regulations are based on science, using the best and latest data available.

Most provincewide regulations remain unchanged. Regional hunting regulations change each year to address conservation and safety concerns and to allow more hunting where wildlife populations have grown.

Major regulation changes are detailed on Page 2 of the synopsis.

Hunters and trappers are advised that last year’s wildfires may have created safety hazards in some parts of the province. Caution should be used when venturing into burned areas.

The complete Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis is available at government agent offices, stores where hunting and trapping licenses are sold, and on the ministry website.

The electronic version is available through the Subject Index (under Hunting) on the ministry’s website, www.gov.bc.ca/wlap.

Indiana Whitetail Buck
I got this monster on the way back to the truck after missing an 8-pointer. I was sitting in my stand on Nov. 25, 2007 on my first mid-day hunt of gun season. I sat all day with just seeing a couple does off in the distance. Then I heard something coming down the trail I was hunting and a big doe and a nice 8 point came out from behind some brush. I waited till he got in range then boom.
