Guide Exam to be Administered by Government Agents
British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection

Posted on: 05/27/05 [Comments?]

As of June 1, guide outfitter and angling guide exams will be administered entirely by government agents throughout British Columbia.

Exam applicants will now have more direct and efficient access to the entire exam process, through any of the 59 government agent offices provincewide, and will no longer have to contact the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection’s Fish and Wildlife Recreation and Allocation Branch in Victoria as part of the process. The ministry has worked with government agents to make the process more convenient for applicants.

Applicants for guide outfitter or angling guide exams need only call or visit their nearest or convenient government agent office to request the exam study materials and obtain further information about the process.

Government agents will provide applicants with the information they need to prepare for their exam. Once prepared, an applicant will contact the government agent office of their choice and schedule a date and time to write the exam. Upon exam completion, the applicant will be given the option of receiving their exam mark in person or having it mailed to them.

For government agent office locations and contact information, please visit http://www.governmentagents.gov.bc.ca/locations/map.htm or contact Enquiry BC at one of the following numbers:

In Victoria call: 387-6121
In Vancouver call: 604 660-2421
Elsewhere in BC call: 1-800 663-7867
Outside British Columbia: 604 660-2421

New York Turkey Hunt
I harvested this gobbler on May 6, 2008 at 5:45 in the morning. My partner and I walked across an open field to get set up long before sunrise, but the bird started gobbling at 5:20. Go set up with B-mobile strutting tom decoy and she mobile hen decoy. We were literally set up in some brush just sitting on our knees (no big trees) when we heard the bird fly down and start triple gobbling to the light yelps and purrs I gave him.
