Most of us, at one time or another, have flipped through the pages of our favorite hunting magazines or browsed the pages of our favorite hunting websites and commented to ourselves on how "lucky" some of the featured hunters were to have harvested such tremendous animals. Arkansas Elk Hunt Applications Now Available 05/11/07
The 2007 elk season will be broken into two segments: September 24-28, 2007 and December 3-7, 2007. There are 20 permits available. Of those 20 permits, 18 will be awarded at the annual Buffalo River Elk Festival in June. Two of the permits will be auctioned during fund-raising activities of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.  10 Point South Carolina Deer
I was able to take this 10 point deer at the McBee National Wildlife Refuge on November 2, 2007. The deer weighed 203 lbs and had an inside spread of 16 inches. I had seen this deer three times during the 2006 hunting season but did not get a shot. The first day of the opening gun hunt allowed me to take him. It was a 178 yard shot late in the afternoon. My first hunt of 2007, what a way to start my season!
