Grizzly Intercept Program Limits Livestock Losses 04/12/06
When grizzly bears awaken after months of hibernation, they quickly begin looking for food to satisfy their winter hunger. Sometimes in the past, this has led to conflicts with livestock producers along the southern foothills, where grizzly bear habitat borders farmland.

Four More Cases of CWD Found in Wild Deer 03/01/06
Following disease control efforts in January and February 2006, Alberta documented another four cases of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in wild deer in the province. This brings the total to eight cases of CWD confirmed in wild deer in Alberta since the first case in September 2005.
