Men Arrested for Importing Deer 03/24/06
Conservation Officers in Lauderdale County arrested Gary R. Faires, 56, and Gary S. Daugherty, 35, on February 15, 2006, for illegally importing deer into Alabama. Faires was also charged with the illegal possession of protected wildlife. [Comments?]

Wildlife Strategy Approved 12/13/05
Conservation Commissioner Barnett Lawley announced today that the Alabama Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy has been approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. All 50 states agreed to complete a Strategy by October 1, 2005, as a condition for receiving State Wildlife Grants funding to support fish and wildlife conservation. [Comments?]
New York Turkey Hunt Success This turkey I shot on the on the fourth day, of my first spring turkey season in New York. I was set up on a good a roosted tom, but little did I know that he had about 10 or 20 hens with him. So as soon as he hit the ground I did a few soft yelps and clucks but he paid no attention to me, he just followed the hens out of of gun range.
