Posted on: 10/12/05 [Comments?]

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announces an amendment to Rule 220-2-.110-.138ER titled “Establishment of Physically Disabled Hunting Areas” regarding the addition of hunting areas for the physically disabled.

This emergency rule adds the Cherokee Physically Disabled Hunting Area, the Big Oak Physically Disabled Hunting Area, and the Dozier Physically Disabled Hunting Area. It also revises the map for the Fayette WMA for Disabled Hunting, and amends the name of one area to the Forever Wild Land Trust – Alabama Power Co. Physically Disabled Hunting Area.

Alabama’s physically disabled hunters now have 16 sites specifically designated as hunting areas for physically disabled hunters. For a list of locations and other information about the trail, click here.

These changes were promulgated and adopted on October 3, 2005, when signed by Conservation Commissioner M. Barnett Lawley and filed with the Legislative Reference Service.

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through five divisions: Marine Police, Marine Resources, State Parks, State Lands, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
