Tommy drew a permit for a "youth only" hunt in Delta Junction Alaska. We hunted for 3 days, hiking approximately 5 miles per day prior to spotting this spike. The cow moose in the area made the stalk difficult because that were constantly "on guard" and spooking whenever we moved. He shot the moose feeding in a field of blue grass at 9:00 pm with a Ruger 7MM 08 pushing a 175 gr Nosler Partition from approximately 150 yards. This area was a non motorized hunt area so we spent the rest of the night dressing and packing the moose out to camp. As you can be seen in the picture the spikes are very symmetrical in structural and appearance. They are approximately 14' in length and curve back.
