Resident and nonresident hunters interested in being on the priority list for possible big game depredation prevention seasons are alerted they must apply directly for each species to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department regional office in the region where participation is desired.
All applications will be entered in a drawing and receive a priority ranking. The priority list will remain in effect for a twelve month period. Hunters will be called in order of their priority ranking if and when harvest is needed and a depredation prevention season is set.
The application period is July 15 - Oct. 31. Since Oct. 31 falls on a weekend this year, applications will be accepted through the next business day.
There is no fee to apply. Hunters that are called will pay the regular license fee when they report to the hunting site.
Hunters are alerted that late season depredation hunts are dependent on weather conditions, damage situations and animal distribution. There is no guarantee any depredation seasons will be set.
Interested hunters can call their local regional office for applications and more information. Applications and information on depredation hunts are also available at the Game and Fish Web site: gf.state.wy.us/downloads/pdf/Apps/06DepPrev.pdf .
