At the age of 18, Taylor Gramling was already facing an ordeal beyond her years. She was fighting leukemia. One of her wishes was to go hunting. Comedian Jeff Foxworthy helped her fulfil that dream, by allowing her to hunt on his plantation in Georgia. Gramling was able to successfully hunt a deer on the plantation before succumbing to the disease.
The Georgia house voted 161-1 to pass this bill that would give special hunting privileges to terminally ill youth, a youth being under 21. The resource commission would be able to give permits to these youth, for big game and alligators. In the bill, the youth would need to be supervised by an adult hunter. It would waive some rules on weapons, antler restrictions and hunter education requirements. The bill will now move to the desk of Governor Nathan Deal. From AJC.com .
