The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold two public meetings to gather public input on the proposed hunting and trapping regulations for resident game species and select migratory game birds for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. DNR’s Wildlife and Heritage Service reevaluates these hunting and trapping regulations every two years.
“We look forward to discussing our proposals with hunters, trappers and other citizens interested in Maryland’s wildlife resources,” said Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Paul A. Peditto. “We have been working on these proposals with a variety of our stakeholders since mid-January in an effort to keep our regulation changes responsive to the needs and interests of citizens and visitors.”
DNR encourages citizens to comment on the proposed regulations, available at dnr.state.md.us/wildlife/Comments/Hunt_Proposal.asp . Comments can be made through this website or by letter, telephone or fax until 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Comments will be posted to the site as soon as possible.
The public should send written comments to Paul A. Peditto, Director, DNR Wildlife and Heritage Service, Tawes State Office Building E-1, Annapolis, MD, 21401.
