I took this picture two years ago. I was told it was a feral cat, or a bobcat who grew a tail. Myself, I think it is a feral cat dressed as a cougar.

Every year my Pro-Staff and I head to the woods to hunt the old wise Tom. We travel thousands of miles covering numerous states hunting these old guys.
