I won a Spring bow bear hunt/fishing outfitted trip two years ago when my name was drawn out of a hat from the members who qualified with a minimum number of posts on another hunting website I frequent. I had done DIY fishing trips in Ontario north of Michigan where I have lived since 1963, but had never been on a floatplane trip. I drove from Michigan to the floatplane base northeast of Winnepeg and took the 45 minute flight on a big Otter floatplane to the lake where camp was set up. It was a great week in the bush, but the weather was very cold for the last week of May and the bears were hardly on any of the baits and the fishing was also slow due to the weather, but it's a trip that I will always remember just for the scenery alone. Monty ran a great camp and I may go back in the next few years and try for one of the big bears that frequent the area. Here are a few pictures of the adventure.
