This is the first really fine quality custom rifle I have ever owned. I had already owned two M98s, one another custom rifle, but neither come close to the craftsmanship and quality of this rifle. It has a very nice piece of walnut that has a European type schnabel forend tip and cheek piece. It also has a M70 steel buttplate installed, so a combination of styles that work very well together to my eye.

A Douglas Premium air-gaugued barrel and Timney custom trigger are installed. The scope I mounted for initial testing has stayed on top. It's a 3-9x38 Weaver V9, slightly smaller than a similar VXII 3-9x40 I was going to put on top. It's set in a one piece Leupold base and Leupold low rings.
