Hello Folks -
I made a few hunting tips on my main food plot earlier - I thought I would share some photos of the plot as it developed!
This was a 3.3 acre field that was overgrown with small trees, briars, weeds, etc.
I tilled it up - having to cut and drag off some of the slightly larger trees - and let it sit for a week or so.
I came back and tilled it again to further kill the weeks.
I planted buckwheat in early spring and then followed it up with a bean and sunflower mixture... and the results well exceeded my expecations.
The buckwheat grew well and smothered the weeds - and the beans grew in lush and very tall.
The deer literally disappear when they walk into the plot - if they do not lift their heads up, you can not see them.... I even mowed some strips into the beans so we could see the deer as they passed through!
I hope you folks enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed working the plot...
