Coyote hunters and landowners are reminded about the volunteer coyote hunter program listed on the Game, Fish and Parks website.
"Landowners interested in contacting a hunter who has indicated a desire to hunt coyotes should visit the GFP web page," said Wildlife Damage Management Program Administrator Art Smith. "This is the third year of operation for this internet-only program, which can be used by hunters and landowners."
Hunters, who are looking for private land to hunt coyotes, should add their name and contact information to the list. That list can then be accessed by landowners who directly contact the hunters to come out and hunt on their lands.
"In the past two years, more than 450 hunters added their names to the list each year, indicating there are many hunters out there looking to hunt coyotes on private lands," Smith added. "We still believe the best way to develop hunter/landowner relationships is through personal contact and relationship building. However, we also realize that other methods can be beneficial and hope this program will help make those initial contacts easier."
