Ohio's Young Hunters Productive During Special Two-Day Turkey Hunt

Young hunters across Ohio again experienced success during the annual youth spring turkey season, held Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

Sign Up Now for Summer Youth Programs at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center, New Hampshire

Registration is now open for free youth day programs taking place this summer at the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness. These programs give youth (boys and girls) age 10-15 the chance to learn about the shooting sports, bowhunting and other outdoor skills. Sessions will be offered in July and August at Owl Brook, which is operated by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Roe noted that now is the time for hunting clubs to make plans to host an organized junior pheasant hunt or other special hunts that have been established for squirrels, rabbits, waterfowl or spring gobbler.

New Hampshire’s Youth Turkey Weekend – April 28-29, 2012

New Hampshire’s 2012 youth turkey hunt will take place Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29, the weekend before spring gobbler season gets underway.  During the 2011 youth weekend, young hunters took an impressive 521 turkeys, or 14.2% of the total spring turkey harvest in the state.
