Hunters are alerted applications for spring turkey, bison priority list and nonresident elk must be received at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Cheyenne Office or submitted online by 5 p.m. Jan. 31.

Prospective nonresident elk hunters only wanting to purchase a preference point and not apply for a license in 2007, are alerted beginning this year to send in preference point only applications from July 1 to Sept. 30.

As spring turkey hunters contemplate their application and hunting plans, the Game and Fish Department asks that you consider taking a youngster with you this spring. The nature of spring turkey hunting meshes well with having a young companion.

Other important upcoming deadlines:

  • Comments on the Upper Green River Basin Sage Grouse Conservation Plan due at the Game and Fish Jackson Office Jan. 31.
  • Big game harvest surveys due Jan. 31 to be entered in raffle for variety of outdoor-associated prizes.
  • Landowner coupons and corresponding affidavits need to be turned into local game warden or Game and Fish office by Feb. 1.
