Antlerless Deer Licenses Available
Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Vern Ross announced that, based on a recent survey of county treasurers, all 67 counties still have antlerless deer licenses for sale. County treasurers will begin accepting antlerless deer license applications from nonresidents on Monday, Aug. 19. Resident antlerless licenses cost $6; nonresident antlerless licenses are $26.
Deer Hunting Dates Announced for Wye Island
Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) State Forest and Park Service today announced the dates for archery and muzzleloading deer hunts at Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area (N.R.M.A.). As in the past, all hunts will be by permit only.
Anterless Deer Application Deadline Aug 17th
Hunters wishing to participate in this year's limited resident antlerless deer season are reminded their applications must be received by the Division of Natural Resources before the close of business on August 17, 2002, according to Curtis I. Taylor, Chief of the Wildlife Resources Section.
Deer and Antelope Applications Available
Applications for South Dakota's East River deer and firearms antelope seasons are now available. Hunters ready to apply for this year's firearms antelope and East River deer seasons can do so with their computers or by sending in a paper application.
Deer Permit Applications Available
Antlerless deer permit applications for Vermont's December 7-15 muzzleloader season are now available on the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department's website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com). The department put them on the web as pdf files, which can be printed, filled out and sent in with a check.
Applications Available for Controlled Blennerhassett Island State Park Deer Hunts
Joint planning efforts between the Parks and Recreation, Wildlife and Law Enforcement Sections of the Division of Natural Resources and E.I. Dupont, which owns Blennerhassett Island and leases it to the State Parks System, have resulted in a plan for a controlled antlerless deer hunt on October 28, 29 and 30 and November 7, 8, and 9 on Blennerhassett Island State Park, located on the Ohio River near Parkersburg, WV.
Restrictions on Unsold Antlerless Deer Tags Voted Down
At a special meeting here today, the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners voted down a proposal that would have restricted hunters' use of unsold county-specific antlerless deer licenses to private lands only. By defeating the proposal, the Board cleared the way for hunters to use their unsold county-specific antlerless licenses, as well as their regular county-specific antlerless license, on private or public lands.
Antlerless Deer Applications Due
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that Aug. 1 is the deadline to apply for a public land antlerless deer license for the 2002 deer hunting season. Public land antlerless licenses will be available only through the drawing process. Hunters may apply online or at or at any authorized license agent.
Any-deer Permit Application Deadline Nears
Hunters wishing to hunt deer of either sex this season are reminded that their any-deer permit applications must be postmarked no later than August 1, or received at the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife headquarters by 5:00 p.m. on August 1. Hunters can also apply online at www.mefishwildlife.com by 5:00 p.m. on August 1. To apply, you must have a current hunting license and you can apply just once.
Nova Scotia Antlerless Deer Draw Applications
This year 12,200 permits are available for the hunt, which is 1,000 fewer than last year. Permits are being offered for five of the seven deer management zones. Stamps for antlerless deer will not be available for Zone 3 (Chignecto area, Cumberland Co.) or Zone 7 (Cape Breton Highlands and area) because of low deer numbers.
