Utah Trapper Education Classes Offered
Utah's trapping seasons aren't that far away. For example, if the Utah Wildlife Board approves the date, permits to take bobcats will go on sale Oct. 3, 2011.
To ensure you don't miss any of Utah's trapping seasons, the Division of Wildlife Resources encourages you to take a furharvester education course now.
Anyone born after Dec. 31, 1984 must complete the course before trapping in Utah.
Kirk Smith, assistant hunter education coordinator for the DWR, says the DWR has increased the number of furharvester education classes it offers in the state.
"You'll learn several things in the course," Smith says, "including how to trap safely and responsibly."
Want to be an instructor?
A total of 47 trained volunteer instructors are currently teaching the furharvester education course. But more instructors are needed.
