Tennessee Spring Turkey Quota Hunts Application Deadline Approaching

The Feb. 8 deadline is approaching to submit applications to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for the 2012 Spring Turkey Quota Hunts.

Bowhunters posted increases in both deer and turkey harvests during Missouri’s 2011-12 archery deer and turkey hunting seasons, topping the previous year’s figures by more than one-third.

Report Hunt Results By the Jan. 31 Deadline for Chance to Win Special Tags in Oregon

Hunters need to report the results of most big game and turkey hunts by Jan. 31, 2012. Hunters should complete a report for each and every deer, elk, bear, cougar, pronghorn and turkey tag purchased, even if they didn’t fill their tag or go hunting. The participation and harvest rate information is critical for setting tags and seasons.

North Dakota Spring Turkey Season Set, Online Apps Available

The state Game and Fish Department is offering 5,795 wild turkey licenses for the spring hunting season, a decrease of 925 from last year. The decrease is a result of additional winter mortality the last three years and poor production during spring 2011.

Ten of the 22 hunting units have fewer spring licenses than in 2011, while 11 remain the same. Unit 21 (most of Hettinger and Adams counties) is again closed in 2012 due to lack of turkeys in the unit.

Missouri's Managed Turkey Hunt Application Deadline is Feb. 29

Turkey hunters have until Feb. 29 to apply for managed hunts during Missouri’s 2012 spring turkey season. All 19 managed turkey hunts are listed in the “2012 Spring Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information" booklet.

Michigan Spring Turkey Licenses on Sale Now Through Feb. 1

The Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that spring turkey hunting applications are on sale now through Feb 1. The application fee is $4. Hunters may apply for one limited-quota hunting license, or purchase a license for spring turkey Hunt 234, which does not require the $4 application fee.

Oregon's Youth Spring Turkey Hunt is April 7-9, 2012

This year’s youth spring turkey season will be April 7, 8 and 9, 2012 (Saturday, Sunday and Monday). The season dates are misprinted in the current 2011-12 Oregon Game Bird Regulations (page 15).

Mississippi WMA Turkey Hunting Applications Available January 15

Beginning January 15th the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks will begin accepting applications for turkey hunting on select Wildlife Management Areas.

Application Period for Idaho Spring Turkey Hunts Changed

The application period for spring turkey controlled hunts has been delayed to begin February 1.

The application period will run through the end of February. The application fee is $6.25 per person for residents and $14.75 for nonresidents.

Nebraska Spring Turkey Permits Available Jan. 9

Spring turkey hunting permits for 2012 will be available from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission starting at 1 p.m. Central Time on Jan. 9.

The archery season is March 25-May 31. The youth shotgun season is April 7-May 31 and the regular shotgun season is April 14-May 31.
