Commission Sets 2005 Spring Turkey Season
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commissioners set the 2005 spring turkey hunting season and addressed a variety of other issues at a meeting in Lincoln October 14. The commissioners also authorized the creation of a youth spring turkey hunting season and a youth spring turkey hunting permit
More Wild Turkey Hunting Permits Available for 2005
Good weather, efforts to transplant wild turkeys to Utah and a better understanding of how the birds adapt once they arrive in the state have led to the biggest increase in wild turkey hunting permits ever approved in Utah.
Montgomery to Host 2005 Governor’s Turkey Hunt
Governor Bob Riley and Conservation Commissioner Barnett Lawley announce that the Fourth Annual Governor’s One-Shot Turkey Hunt is moving to Montgomery on March 14-16, 2005. The Embassy Suites Hotel will serve as hunt headquarters, while the actual hunting activities will occur throughout central Alabama.
Wild Turkey Proposal Proceeding
Natural Resources Minister Richard Hurlburt said, "Information gathered during his review of a proposal to introduce wild turkeys to Nova Scotia is now available on a department website. Since receiving the proposal, my department has worked to ensure that we have the best possible information available to make a fair and well-informed decision."
Fall Wild Turkey Season Opens Oct. 9
While results of brood surveys indicate there was a slight decrease in turkey production in Wisconsin this summer, hunters preparing for the Oct. 9 fall turkey season opener should still be able expect a great season of turkey hunting, according to Department of Natural Resources wildlife officials.

Leftover Turkey Licenses
Prospective turkey hunters are alerted that beginning Sept. 15 general and leftover limited quota licenses can be purchased at various license agents in addition to Game and Fish Department offices.
Special Turkey Hunts Scheduled at Lake Sonoma
Due to budgetary constraints, only wild turkey hunts will be offered at Lake Sonoma during the 2004-05 hunting season. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is providing these hunting opportunities in cooperation with the Department of Fish and Game.
Fall Turkey Hunting Season Approaching
Turkey hunters still have time to obtain a permit for Nebraskas 2004 archery or shotgun fall turkey hunting seasons. This year there are an unlimited number of fall turkey hunting permits for both the fall turkey archery and shotgun seasons.
Fall Wild Turkey Leftover Licenses
Applicants who were unsuccessful in the 2004 fall wild turkey lottery may apply for leftover licenses. Wild turkey hunting licenses that remain after the landowner and regular lottery drawings are being offered to unsuccessful applicants at Electronic Licensing System (ELS) agency beginning at noon on Monday, Sept. 13.
