The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), in cooperation with Wilderness Unlimited (WU) and the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), will sponsor the eighth annual Wild Turkey Expo.
Wild Turkey Federation Continues Support for Transplant Program
The Minnesota Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) is continuing its support for a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) program to trap wild turkeys from large flocks in southeast Minnesota and release them in areas of the state with suitable habitat.
Special Drawing for Spring Turkey Hunts
Permits are required for the opening weekend of the spring wild turkey season at Cache Creek Wildlife Area (Department of Fish and Game) and Cache Creek Natural Area (Bureau of Land Management) on March 26 and 27.
Special Statewide Youth Turkey Hunting Day
The special statewide youth turkey-hunting day for the 2005 spring turkey season will be held on Saturday, March 26. South Carolina state resident youths ages 10-17 may participate under the supervision of a licensed adult 21 years or older. Only the youth may carry a gun and hunt.
Spring Turkey Permits Available February 14
Nebraska resident turkey hunting permits for both shotgun and archery hunters are $21.00, non-resident permits are $66.00. A current Nebraska Habitat Stamp is required of every resident 16 years of age or older who hunts game species or takes furbearers in Nebraska.
Reward Offered in Wild Turkey Case
State conservation officials today announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the late-January killing of 14 wild turkeys in Alcona County.
HSAAP Announces Spring Turkey Hunts
Holston Army Ammunition Plant (HSAAP) will host four turkey hunts during the statewide 2005 spring turkey season. The dates for these four hunts are: Saturday, March 26 (Youth hunt ages 13-16 only), Saturday, April 2; Sunday, April 3; and Saturday, April 9, 2005. Each hunt will begin thirty minutes before sunrise and end at noon.
Spring Turkey Hunt Winner Notifications Available
Hunters who are notified they received a permit can purchase their licenses at any Electronic Licensing System license agent beginning March 1, which is the beginning of the 2005 license year. Licenses and wild turkey stamps must be purchased by the start of a person's hunting season.
DWR Wild Turkey Release
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) in partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) released 13 Rio Grande wild turkeys near Huntington on Friday. About 60 Emery High School (EHS) students participated in the release.
Non-Migratory Game Species Season Opening Dates Set
The Nebraska Game and Parks commissioners set application periods and season dates for the 2005 fall turkey hunting seasons, non-migratory game species seasons opening dates, set big game permit application dates, and addressed a variety of other issues at a meeting in Sidney January 20.
