Tennessee’s 2012 spring hunting season for wild turkeys begins with the Young Sportsman Hunt, March 24-25 while the statewide season runs from March 31 through May 13.

New Mexico Spring Turkey Hunters: Buy Your Game-Hunting License Early, Don't Request Refund When Applying Big-Game Draw

Spring turkey hunters are reminded that beginning this year, they are required to purchase a Game-hunting license before they can purchase a turkey license or apply for big-game licenses. Although hunters can request a refund in case they are unsuccessful in the draw, those who plan to hunt turkeys this spring are advised not to request a refund or they risk having to pay for a second Game-hunting license if they are successful in the draw.

Shotgun Gauge Changes in Effect for Tennessee's 2012 Spring Turkey Season

Tennessee hunters will be eligible to use any gauge of shotgun during the upcoming spring turkey hunting season. The Young Sportsman Hunt is March 24-25 while the Statewide Season is March 31-May 13.

Turkey Hunting Safety Tips

Successful hunting trips require a combination of skill, patience and most importantly, preparation. As turkey season rapidly approaches, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) encourages preparation first, hoping that hunters will brush up on important turkey hunting safety tips before hitting the woods. 

New Turkey Hunt at Air Force Academy, Colorado for New Hunters

A small number of new turkey hunting permits on the Air Force Academy property in Colorado Springs are being made available to women and youth first-time hunters. The 10 new tags will be evenly divided between the spring and fall seasons. Interested individuals must have already completed hunter education and must attend a turkey hunting class in Colorado Springs on Saturday, March 24.

Wisconsin Leftover Spring Turkey Permits Available Beginning Week of March 19

Remaining permits for the 2012 spring turkey hunting season will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting Monday, March 19. Designated zones will be sold each day, starting at 10 a.m. and continue through midnight or until all permits for that zone and/or time period are sold out. The following zones have leftover permits, and the scheduled sales dates are as follows:
