Wisconsin Spring Turkey Season Opens April 11

The April 11 opening of the 2012 spring wild turkey hunting season is just around the corner, and state wildlife officials say hunters can look forward to a good spring hunt. They also are encouraging experienced hunters to consider taking a youth out during the April 7 and 8 statewide spring turkey youth hunt.

New Hampshire Wildlife Harvest Summary Available

A rich source of information for future hunts is now out from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. The newly published 2011 New Hampshire Wildlife Harvest Summary summarizes data gathered by wildlife biologists from the various 2011 New Hampshire hunting seasons. This annual publication provides a complete breakdown of 2011 hunting season statistics, including many totals by town and Wildlife Management Unit (WMU).  Statistics are provided for deer, moose, bear, turkey and furbearers.

Warm Weather Could Boost Missouri Turkey Hunters’ Long-term Prospects

Mild winter and early spring weather shifts the balance a little more in favor of a population rebound for Missouri’s wild-turkey flock, but it won’t have much effect on this year’s spring turkey season, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Considers Arkansas Hunting Season Proposals

During today’s monthly meeting of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, commissioners were presented with proposals for the 2012-13 hunting seasons. Commissioners will study the proposals and make a final decision at their April meeting.

AGFC Chief of Wildlife David Goad presented the proposed changes to the Commission. “We’ve heard what the public has been saying and we’re trying to follow their input,” Goad said.
