South Dakota’s 2004 spring turkey application is available and can be found at Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) offices, license agents and via the GFP website at www.state.sd.us/gfp/. Folks can also apply online at that web address with a credit card.

"Turkey hunters should look under "What’s New" on the GFP homepage for the link that leads to the application index webpage. From there, folks will find the link to print the 2004 spring turkey application," said Division of Wildlife Communications Manager Chuck Schlueter. He added that folks should also note that a couple lines were dropped off the paper application. Missing information includes:

* Unit 165A (Shannon County) has 50 resident and four nonresident licenses available.

* Unit 167A (Todd County) has 50 resident and four nonresident licenses available.

The information is missing only from the printed paper application forms. The application that can be printed from the GFP website is correct.

To apply online with a credit card, people should click on the link to "Apply Online for Limited Licenses" found under the subheading "Popular Shortcuts."

The first application deadline for spring turkey is Friday, Feb. 20. Envelopes containing paper applications must be postmarked on or before that date. Online applicants will have up to midnight on Monday, Feb. 23 to apply via computer.
