Some Popular Montana Hunting And Fishing Remains Open

Hunting for pheasants, sharp-tailed grouse, partridge and turkey continues until Jan. 1, 2012. Hunting for mountain grouse closed Dec. 15.

Depending on the flyway, duck hunting continues into January, closing on Jan. 5 in the Central Flyway and Jan. 13 in the Pacific Flyway. Goose hunting and falconry continue in the Central and Pacific flyways until Jan. 13. Swan hunting in the Pacific flyway is closed, but swan may be hunted in the Central Flyway until Jan. 5.

Anglers enjoy fishing on most Montana's lakes and major rivers throughout the year. Fishing on the state's smaller rivers and streams closed Nov. 30.
