Roseberg Public Meeting on Big Game Regulations
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is holding a public meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Roseburg ODFW office to discuss proposed tag numbers for big game controlled hunts this fall and proposed regulation changes for 2004. The meeting is being co-sponsored by the Umpqua Chapter of the Oregon Hunter's Association and is open to the public.
The original news release dated May 1, listed the public meeting date as May 13. The correct meeting date is May 20.
The agenda includes an overview of statewide herd and habitat conditions and a review of proposals for deer, elk, antelope, bighorn sheep, cougar, and silver gray squirrel. The proposals are posted to the ODFW Web site at www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/InfoCntrWild/biggame2001_2.htm.
Following a series of public meetings held statewide in May, the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will review big game proposals and the comments received. Adoption is expected during a June 6 meeting and public hearing in Pendleton. The Commission is the rule-making body for ODFW. The address for the meeting is 4192 N. Umpqua Highway, Roseburg.
