Reelfoot NWR will conduct its 2004 deer season quota hunt on November 12-14. The refuge will accept permit applications for this hunt during the month of July only. In August, a computer drawing will be used to randomly select 100 hunters for the Grassy Island unit and 100 hunters for the Long Point unit. If selected, a $12.50 fee per hunter is due upon notification.

To apply for a permit, applicants must:

1. Self-address a U. S. Postal Service postcard and type or clearly print name, address, date of birth and choice of hunting area (Long Point or Grassy Island) indicated on the back of the card. A party of one or two hunters may apply.

2. Enclose and mail the post card in an envelope addressed to Deer Quota Hunt, Reelfoot NWR, 4343 Highway 157, Union City, TN 38261.

The submission of multiple cards, failure to include your date of birth and illegible or incomplete name or address will disqualify the applicant(s). Grassy Island hunters must comply with hunting regulations for Tennessee while Long Point hunters must comply with hunting regulations for either Tennessee or Kentucky in accordance with the state in which their license was purchased. Federal regulations also apply. The bag limit for the quota hunt is 2 deer (only one may be antlered) and they are bonus deer.
