Colorado Big Game Apps Due April 5th

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is rolling out its 2011 big game hunting brochure with some major enhancements to help hunters apply for licenses and find information about big game hunting in the state. Applications for the 2011 fall big game season are due to the Division of Wildlife by Tuesday, April 5.

The fully re-designed brochure includes easy-to-read tables, a detailed list of new hunt opportunities in the state and a reference page with important information about Colorado hunting regulations. Copies of the brochure are available anywhere licenses are sold.

Arizona Elk and Pronghorn Applications Due Feb. 8th

Hunters seeking a chance to hunt Arizona's coveted elk or pronghorn antelope are running out of time to submit a paper application to the Arizona Game and Fish Department for a chance at the limited permits issued through the drawing process.

The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 by 7 p.m. (MST) - postmarks do not count. There is no online application process.

Wyoming Resident Online Applications Now Open for Deer, Elk, and Antelope

Starting Jan. 1st - residents can now apply online for elk, deer and antelope licenses. This is a departure from previous years when resident applications for these species were only accepted during the month of May.

License section manager Jean Cole said the early application period is for online applications only. "Hunters who wish to submit paper applications for elk, deer and antelope must still wait until the May application period," Cole said. "But, online applications for elk, deer and antelope will be accepted from Jan. 1 through May 31."

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has just published the new Big Game and Trapper Rules and Information Booklet for 2011-2012.

Wyoming 2011 NonResident Application Booklets Available Now

More than 13,000 nonresident big game application booklets for the 2011 hunting seasons are being mailed out this week to hunters who applied through the mail for the 2010 hunting seasons.

Montana's Big Game Seasons Will Not be Extended

Montana's 2010 general big game hunting seasons closed Nov. 28 and will not be extended, state wildlife official confirmed.

"We are not planning any season extension anywhere in the state this year," said Ken McDonald, chief of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' wildlife bureau. "If specific population or damage problems emerge, we’ll use management seasons or game damage hunts to address them."

Idaho 2011 Licenses, Tags and Permits on Sale December 1st

The 2011 licenses, tags and permits go on sale at 12:01 a.m. MST, Wednesday, December 1, except for the nonresident Selway B elk tags which go on sale at 10 a.m. MST.

The sale of these popular tags is being delayed because many license vendors and Idaho Department of Fish and Game offices will not be open at midnight. By delaying the sale timing, hunters will have an equal opportunity to buy the tags.

Utah's 2011 Sportsman Permit Apps Available Nov. 1st

Applications for next year's most prized Utah hunting permits — 2011 sportsman permits — will be available by Nov. 1.

Only Utah residents may apply for sportsman permits. One sportsman permit is offered for each of the following species: Desert bighorn ram, Rocky Mountain bighorn ram, buck deer, buck pronghorn, bull elk, bull moose, hunter's choice bison, hunter's choice Rocky Mountain goat, black bear, cougar and wild turkey.
