Buy Big Game Tags in July
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife today urged Oregonians planning to use sport hunting tags, commercial licenses and other permits in August to buy them in July before the agency moves its computer system to a new location.
Leftover Big Game Tags to Go on Sale July 1
More than 1,300 tags for limited entry deer and elk hunts will be sold first-come, first-served starting at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, at license agents around the state, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announced Tuesday. These tags were left over in nine hunts after the annual June drawing for "controlled" tags.
ODFW Seeks Proposals that Increase Public Hunting Access
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Access and Habitat Board is seeking grant proposals for projects that increase public hunting access and/or benefit wildlife habitat on private lands. The application deadline is July 9, 2003.

The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet in open session Friday, June 6, in Pendleton to consider the number of tags available for this fall’s controlled hunting seasons for deer, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goat and pronghorn.
Roseberg Public Meeting on Big Game Regulations
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is holding a public meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Roseburg ODFW office to discuss proposed tag numbers for big game controlled hunts this fall and proposed regulation changes for 2004. The meeting is being co-sponsored by the Umpqua Chapter of the Oregon Hunter's Association and is open to the public.
Big Game Hunt App Deadline Approaching
State wildlife officials remind big game hunters that the deadline to apply for this fall’s controlled hunts is quickly approaching. Hunters should submit their applications through their local license agent, ODFW office or mail well before the Thursday, May 15, cutoff to avoid long lines.
Big Game Raffle Hunt Tickets on Sale Through May 7
There’s still plenty of time to buy raffle tickets for a chance at winning a special deer, elk, or bighorn sheep tag. But don’t wait too long. Ticket sales at all point-of sale ticket vendors closes on May 7. After May 7, tickets may only be purchased at the Oregon Hunters Association convention on May 17 in Redmond, OR.
