Operation Game Thief Offers $1,000 Reward
Operation Game Thief is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of a group of deer poachers in the Encino area.
The suspects killed four deer east of Encino off Torrance County Road 76. Three of the deer, two does and a fawn were left in the field to rot. Investigating officers believe poachers killed the deer sometime around March 11-12 and loaded the fourth deer into a vehicle and took it away.
Anyone with information on this poaching incident is urged to call the toll-free Operation Game Thief number at 1-800-432-4263. Callers need not identify themselves or testify in court. If the information leads to the apprehension of the game law violators, the caller is eligible for a $1,000 reward. Operation Game Thief is a wildlife crime hotline program sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
