Ohio Antlerless Permits Available Until Nov 30
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife reminds hunters that they have until Sunday, November 30 to purchase a $15 antlerless deer permit.
Antlerless deer permits can be used statewide during the archery season until November 30. From December 1 through 7 the permit can be used only to hunt antlerless deer in Zone C. Antlerless deer permits are not valid after December 7, except in Urban Deer Units where hunters may take up to four deer throughout the season. Deer hunting season ends statewide on February 1.
Hunters must first purchase the $24 deer hunting permit before buying any antlerless deer permits.
These deer permits are a wildlife management tool to promote the taking of more antlerless deer. Ohio hunters are encouraged to use the reduced-priced antlerless permit to harvest more does this season and donate extra venison to food banks that benefit Ohioans in need.
To assist in the effort, the Division of Wildlife is collaborating with Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry to help pay for the processing of donated venison. Hunters donating their deer are not required to pay processing costs as long as deer are taken to a participating processor and funding for the effort is available. Counties being served by the program can be found online at fhfh.org.
