The Newfoundland and Labrador Shooting Association will be offering an Olympic target pistol marksmanship clinic, November 11-12. Lead instructor Patrick Haynes is former National Team coach, Team Ontario Canada Games pistol coach and personal coach to Avianna Chao, an athlete with a quota spot for the 2008 Summer Olympics. His coaching experience has allowed him to work many Canadian shooters competing at the Canada Winter Games, the World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Pan Am Games. Patrick is certified NCCP level 3 in pistol coaching and is currently working towards international certification. This clinic will be held in the High Performance Marksmanship and CSCA Training Facility, Room PE 1002 on the lower level of the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation.

The Olympic target pistol marksmanship clinic is for both Canada Games age athletes interested in training for air pistol and senior experienced pistol shooters. This clinic will focus upon teaching the technical skills needed to compete effectively in International Shooting Sport Federation styled competition. These skills will be developed in the context of air pistol but can be applied to free pistol, standard pistol, sport pistol and rapid fire. This clinic begins on the afternoon of November 11 and concludes late afternoon on November 12. Space is limited, so register early.
